MORE DETAILS ON THE PARTY HERE

Our next big PartyPaloozaNW Costume Party will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2008!

And the theme is... Mad Max, Beyond the Military Zone!

The movie we are loosely basing our theme on was the third and final installment in the Mad Max series starring Mel Gibson and Tina Turner, released in 1985. (For a synopsis go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Max_Beyond_Thunderdome)

We thought it would make a great theme, ripe with costume possibilities! Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Post-apocalyptic
Futuristic
Post-retro
Cyberpunk
Steampunk
Post-nuclear
Military
Camouflage
GI Joe
Survivalist
Tina Turner
and Mel Gibson

We will be hosting the party at the newly redecorated SAFOMA (Sammamish Forrest Manors) Cabana in Redmond, WA. The Cabana has room for 80 people and we recommend everyone purchase their tickets as soon as possible because we anticipate selling out.

To purchase your tickets online, to go: Brown Paper Tickets (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/28499) or call their live 24/7 Hotline 1-800-838-3006 and ask for tickets to the Mad Max event on March 8th! Ticket prices are $12.00 per person online or $15.00 per person at the door. We will have a limited amount of tickets available at the door on a first come, first served basis. Ticket prices are non-refundable.

The ticket price includes 1 drink ticket and 3 raffle tickets. Guests must be 21 and older, please bring your ID. We will have Snacks, Sodas and a No Host Bar. A DJ will be spinning the tunes and we may have Guitar Hero set up. As usual, prizes will be awarded to the best costumes!

This party is also a fundraiser for ROOTS (Rising Out Of The Shadows) which is a homeless shelter for teens and young adults. Their website is located at: http://www.rootsinfo.org/ and ALL funds raised at the party will be donated directly to ROOTS on behalf of Kumar, a dear friend of ours who passed away last year.

ROOTS was Kumar's favorite charity and we want to do raise money as a memorial to how much he meant to us. We are also sponsoring a clothing drive and would also like to encourage people to bring coats, gloves, hats, new socks and new underwear which is greatly needed by ROOTS at this time of year.

We'll have some great raffle prizes and silent auction items. If you or you company has something you would be willing to donate, please let us know! Since it is a fundraiser, we would also appreciate it if people could bring chips/dips and appetizers to share.

Its going to be another fabulous evening with lots of fun, friendly people. We hope you can join us!

People are raving about the place, but only because it deserves the praise.

"The Comforter
A place like home in Wallingford (no ruby slippers required)."

"The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed and not too quiet (we had 4 kids with us). A pleasant experience all the way around."

"The service is excellent. The servers are polite and prompt, and just attentive enough to not make you feel pestered. Their food all tastes fresh and home cooked...and don't even get me started on the desserts...heavenly! I always take out of town guests here...they all wish they had a place like this back home. LOVE IT!"

This is a very busy restaurant on Sunday mornings. This event will have limited seating and I ask that you take this into consideration. Please make sure to update your RSVP if things change. Please do not change your RSVP at the last minute. They are going to set aside a table for us, and it looks bad if people don't show up. They will be less likely to allow us back on a busy day. Parking might not be plentiful since the restaurant is right on 45th. Please allow time to find parking.

The Stranger's Review-
The name couldn't be stupider if it were "Beau Thai." The neighborhood is odd, distant, and homely. Still, after one meal at Lake City Way's Thai One On, you'll immediately begin planning your return. The Pud Thai is a near-miracle, achieving the perfect blend of lightness and spice, and bearing almost nothing in common with the ketchup-heavy tangles dished out by other Thai joints. If you want to make the punny name a reality, there's an mod-styled bar in back.

Let's check it out to see if it really is amazing. Please remember to keep your RSVP updated. I need to call with an accurate head count a few days before the event. Hope to see you all there.

I've eaten here once and it was awesome. I had a sudden craving to go back.

At the 5 SPOT, we keep Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood hoppin' with three square meals a day and friendly service to match. Home of the "American Food Festival Series," 5 SPOT's menu offers big flavored food and kitsch from all points of the continental U.S. Our menus are inspired by our nation's cultural roots and history that's found on kitchen tables across America.

Their policy is a single check per table, so please bring cash.

They are very strict about reservations. Please do not RSVP yes and not show. You must be there by 7 or we will get a smaller table. If you are not sure about showing up, please do not RSVP yes.
