Why the complicated system of having a waiting list?
Several members have complained that they are unable to attend any of the dinner events because the RSVP "YES" list seems to fill up quickly. And even if people drop out, somebody new "jumps" in before those who have been waiting get a chance to RSVP. Also the waiting list gives the organizers a chance to more accurately gage the demand for a particular dinner event and make reservation plans accordingly. How does the waiting list work? The Organizer will first set up a dinner event on the Calendar As people add their name to the waiting list, the Organizer will add their name (in the correct order) to the RSVP "YES" list on the Calendar dinner event until all the spots are filled up. When the Organizer RSVPs "YES" for a person, he/she will automatically get an email notifying them of this change. People can continue to add their names to Waiting list even if the dinner event has filled up - in case somebody drops out, the Organizer will then add the next name on the list to the RSVP "YES" list. Please DO NOT click on the "Start a new discussion" button on the message board - all you have to do is click on "Add a reply" at the bottom of the waiting list message for the restaurant event you're interested in. To make sure that your name is on the waiting list (in the correct order) please do the following:
