You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
I read about Meetup in a Reader's Digest article, then found this group through the main site.
Strawberry Fair in Norwell for comfort food (including one of the few distinctive breakfast menus around) and a fun, comfortable atmosphere. The Wildflower Cafe in Duxbury is smaller and less idiosyncratic, but fills a similar niche. Sweet lemons in Weymouth is just about the best Thai restaurant around (I recommend the Washington Street location). The Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham promises to be a new American gem and Martha Stone's new venture at Pinewoods in Plymouth, Martha's Stone Soup at the Tavern, is welcome news to the many loyal customers who remember years of great food at the former Martha's Galley.
I'm pretty omnivorous, though there are a lot of great Italian cooks in my family and that is a favorite cuisine (A few favorite Italian restaurants: Gennaro's in Quincy, Reggio and Ecco Trattoria, both in Weymouth.) Also a huge fan of quality chocolate. Whole Foods has by far the best selection around.
I'd have to say dinner, largely because that's the one I'm most likely to be able to take my time with and make special.
I tend to enjoy the quiet days in the middle of the week, because I can be out and about when the crowds aren't.
