What's Meetup?

Maybe it's time for a little less face-to-screen and a little more face-to-face.

What's a Meetup Group?

Meetup Groups are today's support groups, parent playgroups, citizen groups, fitness groups, book clubs, professional groups, and other powerful local groups!

About Long Island Dining Out

Please answer the profile questions that are provided. It is a way for our new members to get acquainted and to show the group they are serious about becoming a member. So join us for good food, new friends, and interesting conversation in a different setting each month. As organizer I'll scout out the most reasonably priced well rated restaurants on L.I. Just bring your appetite and a smile. (Our dining out events are for adults only)

HOW IT WORKS
I choose the restaurant and make all the arrangements, which includes sitting with the manager or owner and trying to get the best menu for the lowest rate for a large group of diners. It also includes making the preliminary and final reservation. Your only obligation is to show up and have fun. When you finish your meal you pay me and I take care of the check.

Our NO-SHOW policy

Our no-show policy includes both no-shows and *last minute cancellations. This unwarranted inaction deprives other members of the opportunity to RSVP with advance planning and creates headaches/burdens for the organizer when it comes to making reservations. Therefore "L.I. Dining Out" has taken on the three strike rule that is advocated by other dining out groups. If you RSVP "YES" to a dining event and you don't show up or *cancel (without good reason) within **48 hours of the event you will be considered a NO-SHOW or an *LMC and the amount of occurrences will be posted beside your name on the membership list for future reference and will also be posted beside your name on all meetup groups that you join. Three NO-SHOWs (IMPORTANT>You are responsible for your guests so guests are included in the NO-SHOW count) will conclude your membership in our dining out group. It certainly isn't too much to ask our members to simply adjust a "YES" response to a "NO"if plans change. Thank you for your cooperation.

Switching Events
RSVP’ing yes to an event in another meetup group on the same day and time that you RSVP yes to a dining event and then canceling our event and switching to your alternate event at the **last minute will end your membership in our dining out group.

Membership Requirement
Members must visit our web site at least once every 3 months to remain a member.

NOTE- As organizer of this group I will not allow membership solely to promote other Meetup groups, events or personal businesses and products. I reserve the right to cancel any membership. I will not answer any solicitation emails from members or non-members.

Gold Star Members*

Our "Gold Star Members" RSVP for just about every dining out event that is posted, whether it be yes, no, or maybe they're the first members to respond. They are reliable. dependable and consistent. I am extremely grateful for there consciences effort to consistently post a response. Gold Star Members will receive special considerations as to waiting lists and advance notice to dining events when warranted. (Gold Star Members must visit our web site at least once every 2 months to keep their status)
