Please join the "Duchess of Brunch" herself, Karen Kelly, our special Guest Facilitator. Some of you may know Karen from her wonderful Brunch Club Meetup group. This month she has graciously agreed to host a long overdue return trip to Essencha Tea House in Oakley. Cincy.com Dining guide says this about Essencha:

Discover this attractive, Asian-inspired modern teahouse with a calming atmosphere that is also down-to-earth and friendly - a great place to explore world tea culture! Essencha offers over 70 varieties of tea - including bubble teas - and also serves breakfast and lunch, afternoon tea service, and gourmet desserts and chocolates.

A little info from their website www.essencha.com:

"In addition to our fine teas, we also serve sandwiches, seasonal salads, assorted fresh pastries, hand-crafted individual desserts & artisanal truffles. Some of our special tea-based drinks include traditional masala chai, freshly made bubble teas, and special iced teas of the day.

Our passion is tea, and we look forward to sharing our passion for this amazing leaf with you! Our main goal at our tea house is to enable you to enjoy the very best tea experience possible. Come in and explore, experience, and enjoy tea with us at Essencha, where we sip culture by the cup and delight in it one cup at a time!"

*****PLEASE NOTE: AFTERNOON TEA SERVICE/HIGH TEA REQUIRES A SPECIAL RESERVATION AND IS USUALLY ONLY DONE IF THE WHOLE TABLE ORDERS IT. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU SIMPLY ORDER FROM THE REGULAR MENU FOR A LOVELY LIGHT MEAL. AND DO TRY SEVERAL TEAS AND THEIR FABULOUS DESSERTS!******

Looking forward to enjoying Essencha Tea House again. It's a favorite!

Who attended?

    •  Good group, interesting conversation. Table was ready, food was very good. Noise level-high, but we could hear OK. Restaurant was "packed". Parking is always an "issue". Found out that Hugo's lot is available during the day.
    • Pat
Sweet little tea house with novel sandwiches, soup and desserts. Tea is hard to choose as the menu is extensive. Most of us were a little disappointed with the tea as it was "ordinary" but the lunch more than made up for it. I would go again.
    •  Company was fun and nice and food was delightful. The noise level is pretty high. Pat Horst
