We are now going through a big change. For over two years we were "Picnicking Plus Visiting Science and Nature Places." However that concept did not work because almost no one from that group ever showed up for the events. Now we are going back to our original group concept of "Indian Food Lovers."
Membership is limited to people who belong to at least one of my two other meetup groups: "Walking in San Francisco for Health and History," or "San Francisco Wine Lovers Group." Also, to send a "Yes" RSVP one must have attended at least one event of either of my two other meetup groups. We do this because it is better to know the other diners a little bit before having dinner together and so that they have more in common than just the food.
Also, if one is interested in going to science and nature places one should join my walking group.
We go only to the restaurants with the highest ratings of the San Francisco Department of Public Health, such as "Bindi" and "Aslam's Rasoi." I do not mean to imply that Indian restaurants violate health codes more than other restaurants. It is a good idea to look up the health violations of any restaurant. Organizer, Howard S.
We go to Aslam's Rasoi because it has everything we need: It has great ratings from the health department and from customers. It is just a few blocks from the 24th Street BART Station. It has lots of room for us and is not crowded or noisy. There are 2 other very good Indian restaurants nearby, but they are too small and crowded for our group: Dosa and Udupi Palace. Read more
