Hello there all you Adventurous Eaters:

It’s that time again…

Remember Tongue-a-palooza and what a blast it was? If you were there you might remember it was mentioned at that event that our humble little group (300 members???) was so completely awesome that we were being featured in a book about cool food gatherings around the country. Well, I am happy to report that book is scheduled to be released in May and the official Denver launch party will in the form of a DAEC event on May 17th at noon in Project Angel Heart’s kitchen. Here is the link to Amazon’s listing for "Cooking Club: Great Ideas and Delicious Recipes for Fabulous Get-Togethers": http://www.amazon.com....

Big thanks to Michelle Lowery, the book’s author, and Sasquatch Publishing for including us in the book!

We will be mixing it up with a menu and demo involving a number of the various parts and pieces that we have come to love and appreciate in the DAEC, and hopefully adding some items we haven’t seen before (more to come on that as the event draws closer). Sasquatch Publishing will be inviting any media that might be interested in promoting the book to this event, so I’m planning on lookin’ pretty. Yeah, right.
In order to reimburse the cost of the necessary supplies a fee of $10 per attendee will be charged. Any fees brought in over and above what is needed will be donated, as usual, to Project Angel Heart (www.projectangelheart.org). For those of you that don’t know, in the interest of full disclosure your humble organizer works for Project Angel Heart.

It is encouraged (although not required) that people bring a potluck item to share. It doesn’t have to be big or freaky, but if you wish to keep within theme of unusual eats that would be great.

And, as usual, please refer to the “About” link on the left side of this web page for a refresher on the RSVP procedure.

Due to space concerns this event will be limited to 50 people. If you RSVP yes and can’t make it after all be sure to remove yourself from the list so that those on the waiting list can move on up.

These meetups involving cooking and eating are always a blast. Hope to see you at Project Angel Heart at noon on May 17th for the Denver launch of "Cooking Club: Great Ideas and Delicious Recipes for Fabulous Get-Togethers"!

Another great event. The people, the food, the book-- all made for a wonderful time. Tried balut and durian-- two things I've actually never had before! Neither of which I probably have again, but hey-- gave them a shot. Thanks to all-- and to Michelle Lowery and Sasquatch Books! http://www.amazon...
