Let?s get our stank on!
Here?s our next meetup-- Stinky Cheese Tasting at The Truffle, a cool little artisan cheese shop here in Denver. Check out their website here: (http://www.denvertruf....
They are willing to personally select a great variety of strong and ?aromatic? cheeses direct from France just for this meetup. The cost is $30.00 per person for the space, the cheese and accessories. Checks can be payable to The Truffle. The shop is tiny, so the event is limited 12 people, give or take (no more than 20). They don't sell wine, so if you have some you'd like to drink and/or share please bring it with you. A call to them a day or so before the event, when they know what will be on the menu, could be helpful with wine pairing.
I think this is a great opportunity to learn about these cheeses from the knowledgeable staff at the Truffle and get to know your fellow adventurous eaters.
This will be a great event and opportunity! Please don?t forget to RSVP either way, as it is very helpful to your humble organizer.
Speaking of RSVPs, here is a friendly reminder of the necessary, but simple enough rules we (unfortunately) must enforce:
*Participants must RSVP "Yes" or "No" to any event, no "Maybes" allowed (failure to RSVP is the same as "No")
*Participants must RSVP at least 24 hours before any meetup. Otherwise, any restaurant reservation or spot in the kitchen for that person cannot be guaranteed. The earlier the better when it comes to RSVPing.
*The FIRST time a group member is a no-call/no-show for a meetup to which he or she has RSVPed "Yes", that person will be removed from the group. It sounds harsh, but not showing once one has RSVPed "Yes" is bad business towards restaurants where reservations are required, a waste of money/food if groceries are purchased for a cooking session, and rude to fellow group members. It also creates undue stress on the meetup organizer, and we definitely can't have that. RSVPs can always be changed via the website once they're made, and a cell phone call to the meetup organizer is acceptable in a pinch.
*Anyone who turns picky will be ridiculed mercilessly (Not exactly a necessary rule, but funny).
Also, quality costs money, and this is sure to be a quality event. Please no writing to complain about costs.
That's not too much to ask, now is it?
I will email my cell phone number to those of you who RSVP "Yes" for this meetup, in case you need to get in touch with me.
Thanks everyone! See you at the Truffle!
Jon
