UPDATE! This event has been postponed until JANUARY 11TH due to the probability of severe weather on the original date. All other details remain the same . If you have RSVP'ed and are now unable to attend, please change your RSVP so those on the waiting list may move up. The original event announcement follows:

Ooooooooooh yeah...
It's time to get the DAEC meetups rolling again. And I can think of no better place than our favorite freaky food stop in Denver, JJ Chinese. Just google it and you'll see-- JJ is what this group is all about. For you new members, this is a great place to start with the DAEC!
I chatted with the powers that be over there, and next week I'm going to stop in and arrange for a sampling menu of some of JJ's greatest hits. I'll arrange a per-person price at that time, so I won't have a set dollar amount for you until sometime closer to the meetup. However, most visits to JJ have cost us around $20-$25 per person without drinks. And it's way worth it. The food at JJ is not only unusual, it's also dang good. Bringing cash is best to avoid overwhelming JJ's wait-staff.
JJ isn't the biggest space in town, so yes-- I'm limiting the meetup to the first lucky 30 who sign up. Sign up quick-- JJ meetups fill up fast. To give plenty of notice to JJ, the deadline to RSVP for this event is Saturday, December 13th (NOW JANUARY 10TH) at noon.
Important! Please click on the "About Us" link at the left side of the webpage. It explains how, if you sign up for the meetup, you're expected to be there. It's bad juju to leave your meetup organizer, your fellow members and the nice restaurant people hanging once they've planned on your presence.
Check back to the website for updates as they come in.
Thanks everybody! See you at JJ!

Thanks Jon - Unsual (understatement!) and great tasting meal - May's wonderful service and knowledge about the dishes made the experience even better. Who knew that duck's tongue would become one of my favorite foods.

Another great meetup! Thanks to all the adventurous eaters who attended (I think that menu qualified as "adventurous", no?), and to the great staff at JJ who were gracious, knowledgeable and really teriffic hosts! See you at the next one!
    •  Great food and a great time. I wandered into JJ's years ago, but lacked the gumption to try the... ah, odder menu items. I'm glad I got a chance to go back with others of like mind.

    •  Wow! What an experience. This was so cool! Thanks for setting this up, Jon!
    •  Most wonderful service and care for our enjoyment.

What an adventure! We liked almost everything, and that is amazing considering how strange some of the items sounded.
    •  Interesting menu! Good company - everyone got into the spirit of tasting all the new foods. I'm not sure I'll ever eat pork intestine again - but hey now I know!

I had a really good time. The people were nice and the waitress was great. Even though I didn't love anything. I don't think that was the point. I can take a lot of things off the things I want to try list. I did find a couple of things I would eat again. I can't wait for this another one as it was a wonderful way to experience something like this and couldn't have done it with out Jon setting it up.
    •  uh, wow... Life would still have been complete without eating the duck tongue or the pigs blood and intestines hot pot. But where else do you get to try crazy stuff like this? Thanks Jon, your Meetups rock!
    •  This was a fun place for first timers, everybody was good about trying a little bit of everything that was served. A great place to try out when your are feeling adventuresome. I would like to go back and try other traditional Chinese items. This place is not for the faint of heart, or meat and potatoes kind of pallet.

Good food, might pass on the pig intestine... Really liked the fermented tofu sauce!
    •  Good stuff! Definitely adventurous eating - I'll admit some dishes were a bit much for me, but I enjoyed most. I ate a few things I'd never tried, that's unusual. It seemed like a good group of people as well.
