“ The basement venue added to the Oscar party atmosphere. Hats off to Jacque Duryee, the event planner for getting us a cash register and making the no-host bar available. This was SCMF's first Oscar party event. In hindsight, the buffet table should have been located where the air hockey table was located (to the left of the projector screen) so that people getting their food wouldn't obstruct the view of those trying to watch the Oscars on the projector screen. Also, the buffet should have been set up and ready for people to serve themselves during the red-carpet part of the show and DEFINITELY before the "official" Oscar telecast started. Unfortunately, they were unable to get the microphone to function, so Chris U. had to shout in order to call out the raffle ticket numbers and some of the party guests had a hard time hearing. So, I'm wondering how does the restaurant handle their karoake events??? Overall, the event was in a good location & plenty of food to go around. ”

“ I think others will like this group because the area where brunches are hosted are not limited to any one area. From previous events, I've seen posted the brunches are at budget to higher end eateries. Kat is very knowledgable about different restaurants and she put together a successful event for us at Whole Foods. ”

“ I'm pleased that our group is active in sharing tips on great places to try out. We want to have a balance between the gourmet and cheaper eats for future meetups and also incorporate social activities as well. I've been adding on more social events (jazz festivals, Hollywood Bowl events, etc.) that I hope the group would have more of an interest in participating in. I think these social activities will promote more interaction and help us get to know and experience different facets of our group members' personalities. ”
