About Fight the Monday Blahs

Fight the Monday Blahs aims to start the work week right by having fun in local restaurants and bars (sometimes on days other than Monday).

  • We're looking forward to meeting you!!
  • Everyone is welcome. Events will be organized at a variety of venues, at a variety of prices. Suggestions are encouraged!
  • I'm happy to have assistant organizers. The more people helping out, the more events we can have!
  • I can't believe I have to write this, but the person who caused it knows why: If you leave early from an event having underpaid, you must pay me back before you will be allowed to attend any more events. If you do this more than once, you will be kicked out of the group anyway.
  • I can't believe I have to write this either, but there were actually complaints about someone in the group: It is generally considered good etiquette to shower before going out to eat with a group of people.

Some details:

  • Some dinners will be ordered individually, some family style. Mostly this depends on the restaurant.
  • When possible, alcohol is ordered at the bar or paid for as it is ordered. This saves headaches with the bill afterwards and ensures that no one else is paying for your drinks.
  • Please don't eat and run. Not only is that socially unfair to the rest of the table, it has been known to create problems with splitting the bill.
  • For many dinners, there is a $10 fee at sign up. $8 of it will go towards dinner; the rest is for fees and a donation for running the group. All confirmations must be received at least 5 day prior to the dinner, otherwise your RSVP will be changed to a No.
  • If you want to be on a waiting list, RSPV "No," and say "waitlist" in the comments. I can't promise to move you up, but I'll do so if possible. Also, check on the day of the event since that's when people tend to drop off.
  • I don't love charging a sign-up fee for events. But people have been flaking out a lot, and I want to be sure there are spaces for people who actually want to come. I'd rather do this than track attendance and kick people out of the group for flaking.
