Dear all,

I'm deeply sorry for the last minute venue change. We are not going to dine at Barracuda tomorrow night, instead I managed to reroute our reservation to this venue:

Given that the locales of the two venues are quite different (Burlingame vs Sunnyvale), I would understand if those who have paid prefer to cancel. You can opt either to apply the deposit to another event or to get a refund. Just let me know.

For those who have not RSVPed, I still have 5 more spots open and I will keep them open until Saturday at noon.

Barracuda has been a pain throughout in honoring my reservation. From my dealing with them, the owner and manager were very arrogant and care nothing about respect and common sense. Tonight when I called them to confirm the pre-order dishes, they have conveniently lost my reservation. Last week they called me trying to push our reservation to 6 PM so we won't 'conflict' with their peak hours. And then there was such a drama in requesting my credit card to secure the reservation. Anyway, I had enough when they said my name was not in the book for tomorrow night, let alone having the private room I booked 6 weeks ago. This is the most difficult venue to deal with up to date, by far!

Again, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. With this experience unfortunately I won't be setting up any future Meetup events at Barracuda, but of course you can still experience the food on your own.

      “ The dishes were great modern fusion, but the decor was traditionally gorgeous Japanese kind. Sushi and Sashimi were so fresh. It was a nice pick! I rerecognized that organizers spend time and efforts for each meeting. Thank you very much for everything, Yuliana! ”
    • “ The restaurant was lovely and beautifully decorated, a nice treat for south bay community. Our table was surrounded by wedding kimonos from Japan. Service was great too and not over the top. My favorite dishes were the Ocean Blue Salad and the sashimi platter. The rolls were quite creative, but another one that caught my attention was the sesame ice cream: nutty, refreshing, and different. Another great teamwork in wiping the plates clean!! ”

I loved all of the dishes that Yuliana had pre-ordered; that touch made the night work so well - she'd planned just the right amounts, and we all were able to sample an amazing number of treats. ”
